FIBA and ESPN have partnered up to see the 2023 Basketball World Cup being covered by the American network. The deal will see most of the competition being streamed on the company’s premium online platform, while also making available some matches on linear television channels.
The competition will start on August 25, and ESPN agreed to air six teams on ESPN2, with at least three of those featuring the United States. The rest of the competition will be available to watch on ESPN+.
FIBA also agreed to produce dedicated content for all six games being aired on ESPN2, which will feature American commentators and content that will satisfy U.S. fans.
